Qatayef or Katayef or Atayef are arabic dessert popular in the month of Ramadan. The small ones, called Qatayef Asafiri or the little bird Qatayef in look, are stuffed with a fillings of cream, are closed only half, then dipped in pistachio topping and then drizzled with thick, faintly rose sugar syrup.
